I am scheduled for a hospital lab test for apnea and narcolepsy. I am concerned that my apnea will not show up because my 3 sisters and I, who all have a similar experience (no snoring, but waking up not breathing and getting up to breathe, gasping) all experience this intermittently, perhaps once or twice a week. I also worry that I won't be able to sleep the night of the test. Are there people who suffer from intermittent apnea (not every night)? If not, are there other conditions that mimic apnea? What about home tests?
