I have only used the nasal pillows, and therefore, have nothing else to compare with my experience .
I have found the nasal pillows (Adam’s) to be somewhat irritating. When I first used them, the base of the nares broke out in little blisters which really hurt. Now the right side has a minor irritation constantly. I am going to treat it with Neosporin to see if it clears up.
Using the CPAP machine has made a tremendous difference in my life. It has flipped my days "upside down" so that I actually feel good when I wake up. I have been afraid of mentioning the irritation factor to my doctor because I know the mask will not work for me. I do not want to go though another night at the sleep disorders lab . . …at least not yet!
I have been on the CPAP just 1 ½ months.
