Falling asleep during boring situations has nothing to do with the situation. If you are in a boring lecture in a dark room and you have had the sleep you need you will remain awake and bored. Falling asleep means you either do not get enough sleep each night and build up a sleep debt which manifest itself during boring situations or you have a sleep disorder which keeps you from getting good quality sleep. You can be sleep deprived and you can overcome it with external stimulation however when things become boring you will fall asleep. It has nothing to do with what you eat for lunch. The time of day you will most likely fall asleep is between 3pm to 5pm with some variation depending on your sleep schedule. You should try getting more sleep, some people need up to 10 hours with the average being about 8. If that does not help you should consult with a sleep specialist to see if you have a sleep disorder. You may want to go ahead and take one of the sleep test on the Sleep Links page and see how you score. If you score high for a sleep disorder go ahead and consult a specialist and stay out of dangerous situations where you may fall asleep.
