I've tried three types of masks so far, and each
has its drawbacks. I use a Sullivan V Plus CPAP
and started out with the triangular plastic mask
with the tube coming out of the front. (Not sure
what this model is called.) It works, but leaks
around my face and causes uncomfortable pleasure
on my upper gums when I tighten the straps to re-
duce the leakage. Also tried a nasal pillow,
which created sores on my nostrils, and just
recently, a "Mirage" mask, new from Sullivan. It
creates a good seal but the straps leave impres-
sive crevices on my face and it leaves a sore on
the bridge of my nose. I looked at a gel mask
when I bought the Mirage. It looked comfortable
but the tech at the supply house said that it
slips out of position. Has that been a problem
for you?
