sleepy and tired

I am a white amle 59 years of age,on insulin shots twice a day. I am around 60 lbs over-weight. I am retired. I have been expectance a feeling of being very
tired and sleepy. Sometimes I'll sleep a short while,other times for a couple of hours. I understand that exercise can give a person energy,but I haven't the pep to go and do not feel "up" when I push my self
to go out and walk a mile or two. I love to read but now am falling asleep doing this as well. Anyone have any suggestions? I feel this should be a great time of my life and this is short=changing me. Thanks
