I work from 7AM till late afternoon - fairly typical. I awaken at 6AM to get to work on time. I try to get to sleep by 10PM. I get my deepest sleep after 4AM. By 6AM I am too exhausted to awaken without a struggle. On vacations or weekends, I can sleep till 11AM, even after going to bed at 10PM. Between 10PM and 4AM I doze, toss & turn, ponder issues - all with my eyes closed. How can I adjust so that my need for deep sleep occurs when I normally am in bed. My goal is to awaken refreshed on a work day.
